Bharti OdedraBharti Odedra – Holistic Health Practitioner

The purpose of a practitioner in general is to support the increase of the client’s options and their quality of life.

Yoga HeadstandI have grown up experiencing the benefits of yoga, pranayama (breath-work),meditation and massages from a young age.  My search for Nirvana led me to study multiple forms of body and energy work and I started my professional practice in Sport Massage in 1998 over 20 years ago.   This evolved to include the integration of other modalities as I recognised the affects of stress in my clients health and the healing benefits of being in a deeply relaxed state even for a short time.  The curiosity of learning more about the wisdom in healings guided me to the subtle approaches which led me to the  Melbourne-based Body Intelligence Craniosacral training program.  Empowering transformations in me started occuring during my 2 year training by the time I graudated in 2012.  I immersed myself with further post grad Biodynamic trainings in pain management, Embryology, Paediatics for treating pregnant women, babies and children.  I went onto become an assistant tutor with the body intelligence craniosacral training program and I continue to develop my wisdom full actions.  As a result of my approach to how I worked in all the other therapies changed, bringing a “Biodynamic Cranio” perspective to all my sessions.

The processes of our living body amazes me, how the embryonic forces of formation expresses in our life.  The body keeps the score of all our life stories, the traumatic experiences of inter generational and cultural conditionings can affect our health and life.  Anything that overwhelms us that we have not been able to integrate can show up in our personalities and behaviour patterns, despite all the stories we tell ourselves, the remarkable natural priniciples of health and healing is held within us.  I now have a deeper understanding and respect for the ancient sages who had perceived what it is to be a human and mapped out the solutions for a healthy living that addresses the mental, emotional, social and spiritual nurturing of life:  Its all an inside job!

Prior to living in Australia, I worked for many years in Central London and in various yoga retreats in Europe and Turkey.  I am now aiming to divide my time between Australia, New Zealand and the UK (please check the contact page for my present whereabouts).

I hold ITEC level Diplomas in Anatomy, Physiology, Sports Massage, Sports Therapy, Thai Massage and Reflexology.  I also trained in various Ayurveda Therapies, Pranayama, Shirodhara, Indian Head Massage, Ayurvedic Facelift Massage, Remedial Massage, Myofascial Release, Acupressure, Advanced Reflexology, Embodied Meditations, Trauma/stress releasing exercises,  Theta Healing, Spiritual Healing and Master in Reiki.

The training is accredited by the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists (PACT), a professional body which maintains standards and protects both craniosacral practitioners and their clients.  The association covers therapists in Australia, New Zealand, India, SE Asia and N. America.

I have a special interest in treatments designed for Brain Injury/Concussion, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, PTSD and also many aspects of fertility and pregnancy support.

I am a committed therapist who works to an ethical code.

I am resourced by yoga, pranayama, dancing, meditating, comedy and outdoor pursuits.
